FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)
The inspection authorization (IA) license, is a professional certification that authorizes a mechanic to perform annual inspections. A primary responsibility of the holder of an IA is to determine airworthiness by inspecting repairs or alterations for conformity to approved data, and assuring that the aircraft is in a condition of safe operation.

Obtainingan IA certificate greatly enhance the privileges and responsibilities of the aircraft mechanic. According to the FAA FAR Part 65, the requirements to get an IA are as follows:

1. Possessing a FAA, A&P rating for (3) three years, and being engaged in maintaining aircraft for 2 years prior to the date of your application.
2. Having a fixed base of operation.
3. Having the equipment, facilities, and inspection data available to properly perform Inspection Authorization (IA) duties and functions.

PREPARATION COURSE
All candidates for Inspection Authorization must successfully complete the FAAās IA Knowledge Written Exam. Our five-day course is designed to equip applicants with the knowledge needed to excel on the IA Knowledge test. This is accomplished through a mix of expert-led lectures, self-directed computer study, and on-site practice exams will become intimately familiar with the privileges and limitations of this highest level of maintenance certification!
COURSE CONTENT
The Inspector Authorization (IA) Course provides an overview of the Inspection Authorization certification, detailing the role of an IA, including inspections, authorizations, and related paperwork. It also includes excerpts from key FAA documents that IAs use. This is the same reference material that applicants will use during the actual exam! Participants will become familiar with these documents and learn how to extract the necessary information to answer FAA exam questions, including Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circulars, etc.
